History, reading and architecture are also things I enjoy and I have several personal photography projects started that revolve around these interests.
Why I Love Photography
For me photography is a way to capture unique and special moments and to create artistic images that captivate and excite the viewer. Through the images I capture, I try to tell a story. I really enjoy catching the candidness of a moment, those things that no one else in the room sees. I began shoot film photography about 15 years ago and have completed several photography courses. I currently shoot using a Canon DSLR and I have a variety of lenses that allow me to capture almost any image. I am passionate about capturing photographs that you will cherish and enjoy.
My philosophy on Digital versus Film Photography:
Digital has opened a new world. Anyone can buy a camera and be a "photographer". The key to being a great photographer is not taking a picture like any average person would. I like to find locations, angles, shots and lighting that are unique and show the subject (model or item) in a different way. Digital also allows me to take photographs that I would not have taken with my film camera. With film there was always the feeling of how much is that shot going to cost? The cost of the film, cost of development, and cost to print the photograph out, by that time I missed the shot. Digital allows me to snap away and not have to stop to load film missing the potential of that great lasting shot.
